Radio Procedure
1. Listen before transmitting.
2. Speak clearly and distinctly.
3. Speak slow.
4. Avoid extremes of pitch.
5. Be natural.
6. Use standard pronunciation.
7. Speak in a moderate strong voice.
8. Keep a good distance between lips and radio.
9. Pause occasionally.
10. Adhere to radio procedures.
NEVER
1. Use unauthorised codenames.
2. Use personal/nicknames.
3. Use slang, jargon or foul language.
4. Transmit aircraft types, roles or weapon loads in clear speech.
5. Transmit details of arms or ammunition, particularly their movements.
6. Transmit unit locations in clear speech.

Radio Checks
Radio checks allow units to report on the signal strength and readability of radio transmissions.
The first part of the radio check is Signal Strength:
Loud.
Good.
Weak.
Very weak.
Fading.
The second part of the radio check is Readability:
Clear.
Readable.
Unreadable.
Distorted.
Interferences.
Intermittent.

Pro-words
Pro-words are pronounceable words or phrases which have been assigned meaning for the purpose of radio conversations.
1. This is - preface to your call sign.
2. Roger - last transmission received and confirmed.
3. Over - I am done, go ahead.
4. Out - I'm done, bye. (Requires NO reply)
5. Wait out - I will be a few seconds.
6. Say again - Say that again.
7. Correction - I really meant to say.
8. Message - following transmission will require to be written down.
9. Figures - used before groups of numbers sent digit by digit.
10. Radio check - report how you receive my transmission.
11. Speak slower - transmit at lower speed.
12. Unknown station (call sign) - used when calling a station whose identity is unknown.
13. Grid - used before any encoded reference or grid reference sent in clear speech.
14. Charlie Charlie One - all call signs.
15. Break break - important message to let other call signs know you need the radio.
